INTRODUCTION TO VOL III 2ND
EDITION 1913
I have great pleasure in presenting this thoroughly
revised and improved edition of the Third volume.
Though owing to causes over which I have no
control, I could not proceed with its revision
beyond the Lecture on the Problem of India. My
sincere gratitude to W. W. Pearson, Esqr., M. A.,
who was very kind in helping me in the revision of
the language and style of this volume and took
great interest in it. I especially remember his
praising the lecture on the Problem of India, which
I intended to translate into the vernaculars also.
